That the day of lovers should be every day when you are in a couple, I think it is something that we already know. We do not have to wait for Valentine’s day to show us that we love each other, any day or every day is good for it, but it does not hurt to mark an even more special day than the others to give us a unique moment.
Sometimes life, routine, children or work trap us in such a way, that it is difficult to find spaces in which to stop and remember why we are with who we are and why we want to remain so. So, celebrate Valentine’s day, your wedding anniversary, all at once, or celebrate it every day of the year, regardless of whether you have decided to show your love, I hope that with this article you do not lack (photographic) ideas of how to do it
COUPLE PHOTO SHOOT
I know that you are also a photographer and that you like being behind the lens much more than in front but, as much as you run away from other people’s cameras, the truth is that it is wonderful to have photos of the two of you together at least once a year.
And I’m not talking about home selfies made with the mobile phone, which we almost all have, I’m talking about an authentic photo shoot made by a professional photographer. I’m talking about having a precious memory of yours to frame.
Years pass and we can’t go back to photograph ourselves 5 years ago, so a Valentine’s Day is a great excuse to spend time that will transform into a precious timeless memory.
COUPLE SELF-PORTRAIT
If the budget is more limited do not worry, you will not miss your session, although I do not promise the same results as if you hire a professional photographer, of course.
- Look for a place with good lighting
- If it is an interior, approach a window
- Get yourself a self-timer
- Use a diaphragm opening sufficient for both of you to be well focused
- Choose clothes that match well with each other
- Take care of the background and the environment
- Uses a tripod
- The best light in these cases is soft and diffused light

PORTRAIT SESSION
Since your partner is lucky enough to have a photographer as a couple, you can encourage yourself to give him a fantastic portrait session made by you, in which you will enjoy both, have fun, and that will leave you, without a doubt, a good memory in the form of images and in the form of experience. Because who better than you to portray the person you want?

PRINT THE PHOTOS
That wonderful bunch of photos are of no use if you then leave them abandoned in some dark corner of the hard drive, or on a CD or USB or in any other format where they do not become well visible.
The photos are made to be seen, so print them, expose them, make yourself a cup, a puzzle, a cushion, put them in a frame, in short, give them life in some way.
GIVE AWAY PHOTOS
After giving them life in some way, and in any format, they become a wonderful gift to share. They can be your couple photos, your wedding, your child, yours, or whatever you think is convenient.
PHOTOGRAPHY BOOK
While I would go into the previous point, it seems to me that it deserves a paragraph in itself. Perhaps it is a personal perception, because at the blacksmith’s House Cuch cuchara de palo and I always talk about printing, about making books, about giving life to our work… but at the moment of truth very occasionally some of my images see the light.
Luckily someone does the books for me, and the truth is that it is one of the formats in which I enjoy most contemplating the images. And not just me, the whole family. At least in my house it is a hit ; -). They take up little space, are collected, cared for, well selected, and you can resort to them whenever you want.
GIVE AWAY EXPERIENCES (AND PHOTOGRAPH THEM)
Do something different and original you two alone, can be a great gift. Think of an experience where you can enjoy the two of you beyond going to the movies or dinner. It can be something as simple as an excursion, visiting a monument, going to the theater, or more daring like going down a turbulent river, riding a horse, a parachute jump or paragliding or I know. All this, please camera in hand to be documented, of course.
